Privacy Policy

DeskCoach is built on a simple idea: you monitor yourself, for yourself. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the app touches and what it doesn't.
The short version. DeskCoach keeps your habit data on your Mac. Camera verification is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, a single frame is sent to our AI vision provider at the moment of a check to confirm you took the break, and is not stored afterward. Prefer zero cloud processing? Use no-camera mode and the camera is never touched.
1. Camera verification (optional)
Camera verification is opt-in and disabled until you explicitly enable it. When enabled, at the moment a break is due DeskCoach captures one still frame from your webcam, downscales it, and sends it to our AI vision provider (currently OpenAI) to confirm in real time that you completed the action (for example, drinking water or standing up). The frame is used only for that single check. DeskCoach does not retain the frame after the check completes, and does not build a profile from your images.
If you do not want any image leaving your device, use no-camera mode. In that mode the enforcement still works through on-screen confirmation and local activity signals, and the camera is never accessed.
2. Habit and usage data
Your hydration count, break history, sitting time, and daily summaries are stored locally on your Mac. This data is yours. DeskCoach does not upload it to us.
3. Calendar and call awareness
To avoid interrupting meetings, DeskCoach reads your calendar availability and detects when your camera or microphone is in use. This check happens on your device; calendar contents are not sent to us.
4. Email (waitlist and updates)
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address to let you know when access opens and to send product updates. We don't sell it or share it with advertisers. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
5. Payments
Purchases are handled by our payment processors, Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record for global card and PayPal payments) and Mercado Pago (for Chile and Latin America). They process your payment details under their own privacy policies. DeskCoach never sees or stores your full card number.
6. AI vision provider
Camera-verification frames are processed by OpenAI under its API data policies, which state that API inputs are not used to train its models. We may change or add vision providers over time, including moving to fully on-device processing in a future version; this page will be updated if that happens.
7. Your choices
You can run DeskCoach entirely without the camera, disable any pillar (water, eyes, movement), and request deletion of your waitlist email. To exercise any of these, contact us below.
